Metropolis
Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin, 20 april 1991- 21 july 1991
Curated by Christos M. Joachimides and Norman Rosenthal
It was in 1991 that the Martin-Gropius-Bau opened the Metropolis exhibition, the first major exhibition of contemporary art in Berlin without the Wall. Cavenago transforms the room intended for him into a colonnade, oriented east-west, with six-metre-high elements which, although appearing as architectural elements, lose their canonical function of supporting elements due to the presence of four wheels at the base.
